5-BORO SPEEDWAY imagines connected bike superhighways that ride along and use existing vehicular and rail infrastructure in the five boroughs and beyond— from the rights-of-way of NYC Transit, Metro-North, Amtrak, LIRR, NJ Transit and CSX, as well as the expressways and parkways. Visitors mount a bike, put on a headset, and start pedaling along one of three routes to Manhattan: from Far Rockaway, Newark, and Coop City, traveling along the A train across Jamaica Bay, above the Cross-Bronx, and across the Meadowlands.
